What is a Pose Helper

Pose helper is essentially a custom rig with added controllers. So you don’t have to find specific points to move a sims body part. Like eyes for example… if you’ve created poses before, you’d know how much of a hassle it is to move sims eyes in Blender. Well, with controllers it isn’t a problem at all.

Why use custom rigs

When I first started creating poses one thing that helped me learn was a Pose helper. Back then there only was one custom rig created by Kijiko. And it helped me out a lot. But that rig had its limits and I went back to using EA’s rig. Well, now there are a lot of custom rigs available and I’ve tested some of them out myself. And these can potentially help you create poses a lot quicker with less effort.

I wanted to teach you how to create custom poses before showing you Pose Helpers because I think you need some base knowledge to use these custom rigs. So if you don’t know how to create poses I highly recommend watching my tutorials on how to create custom poses for The Sims 4.

Here I’ve listed custom rigs for adult, child and toddler sims. There are rigs for pregnant sims and plus-size sims and for different height of sims. Also, mermaids, can’t forget the mermaid rigs.

Pose Helper by Kijiko

The first custom rig I ever tried. It still works great and can be very helpful for you. However, I think there are better options available now.

I have a quick question, where do you put the rig files for them to show up in blender?

You just open them with Blender :) Rig files can be anywhere on your computer.
